Public sentiment has a decisive impact on share prices. In order to be able to make
informed and timely investment decisions, it is vital to stay abreast of sentiment as
reflected in publicly available articles, blogs and press releases. The Analyzer provides
you with a broad range of tools to assess the impact of positive and negative sentiment
on share price. It is comprised of three components described below – the Sentiment
Graph, Articles and Events.
The Sentiment Graph
The Sentiment Graph is a powerful tool used to assess the effect that sentiment has on
share price movements and detect the buildup of negative and positive sentiment. The
fully customizable Stock Sentiment Analysis tool also serves as an excellent platform to
discover new investment and trading opportunities.
Score and Impact
Based on the sentiment contained within each document and event, The Stock Sonar
determines the positive and negative score of the analyzed documents and articles.
You can assess the effect of the day’s news and events on the share price by tracing
the positive impact (green line) and negative impact (red line). Positive impact reflects
the amount and significance of positive comments on any given day. Negative impact
represents the severity as well as the amount of negative comments. Corporate press
releases issued by the company are not included in the calculation of negative or
positive impact. You can choose to view only Impact or Price by checking the relevant
boxes on either side of the graph’s timeline.
Daily Score and Composite Score
Based on each document score and impact, The Stock Sonar calculates a daily score
and a composite score. The daily score constitutes a normalization of the positive and
negative impact, while the composite score attributes a greater weight to more recent
news and events.
